Time for Ironman Louisville! #6
I leave Sunday night for my sixth Ironman (the half way point to my KONA legacy spot). Appropriately enough it will be where it all started, the place I grew up, Ironman Louisville. Although it’s exciting (as always) I am definitely beginning to feel the “grindingness” that is the KONA Legacy journey.
Life has really been kicking my ass lately and between work and being a single parent of a 2nd grade boy the amount of training that I have been getting done is definitely considered “ultra minimal”. Don’t get me wrong, I am not making excuses…
What I have learned is that there will never be a perfect time to start, begin, continue, or end anything in life. You just have to do the best you can do every single day and then show up and put your toe on the line. Since I have started this whole thing nothing has ever went perfectly, nothing! It’s all been a hot, grinding, messy process full of injuries, weight loss, weight gain, money, no money, sponsors, no sponsors, support from friends and family, and sometimes not… It’s a constant evolution.
The point I am trying to make is that if you are waiting for things to be perfect then forget about it, because it will never happen. With that being said, I am not ready for this race but I will see you at the starting line of Ironman Louisville 🙂
Let the suffering begin, and as always, JUST #GUforIT!
