Supplement Training with the AlterG Treadmill

By on May 22, 2013

Over the next weeks as I prepare for Ironman Mont-Tremblant I will be supplementing my standard training with AlterG Treadmill sessions as well. This AlterG treadmill is located at Rehab Dynamics in Covington, LA.

You can find out where your local AlterG is by visiting www.alterg.com and using the “Find An AlterG Near Me” tool on the left side of the website.

Today I was able to lay down a 10k run with a 7:55 min/mile pace at a 148 average heart rate. Typically I would run a 9:30 min/mile at that heart rate but with the reduced gravity environment I was able to experience the fast turnover, avoid breaking down my body, avoid going anaerobic, and continue to build my aerobic system. As I prepare for Ironman Mont-Tremblant over the next 12 weeks I will be using this treadmill a couple times per week. I’ll put some pictures and info below about the AlterG. Cheers, Dustin
